Match Report | Boots M1s kicked off their league season in style with a convincing win over a good Sutton Coldfield team. In a performance which tested their mental fight to win Boots came out on top with new signing Damien Jarzembowski netting the winner with a few minutes to go to ensure that Boots left the West Midlands with all 3 points. Although the game ebbed and flowed it was Boots who held the upper hand in terms of possession and intensity for much of the game and in the end they deserved their win despie a spirited Sutton fight back. Captain Adam Innocent refelcted on the win in typical fashion "In our first game at this level we showed that we can be competitive, yet still have work to do and lessons to learn. We'll be working hard at training in the week in preparation for next Saturday when we'll be looking to recreate the best of today." Alex Davies who led the way with his first goal for his new club added "It was great to score on my debut for Boots, although I have to say I wasn't expecting it after 21 seconds! It a real 'scrapbook moment' to start the season...I'll be looking to build on it next week by trying to score from a metre or 2 out!." |
