Match Report

A competitive game befitting the top two teams in the league.  Barford came out on top but it wa a game of 2 very different halves and in truth Boots played well enough to take a point or three home and learned a lot from the experience.

Barford had the upper hand in the 1st period with Boots struggling to penetrate the midfield, in 2nd it was a different story and they finished much the stronger.  In truth Boots were disappointed not to have taken something from the game but the application shown throughout the team was a real strong point.  The team will certainly be keen to get back to winning ways next time out.

Goal Scorer Steve Hill commented "To be honest we are a bit disappointed, and feel we had the opportunites to win.  When we got our patterns right in that 2nd half we had them on the ropes for sure.  They used their experience well in the first half, but I think it will be a different result when they come to us!"

The experienced Ben Docherty was equally philosophical after the defeat "Look!  It's results like this that will make this team stronger, we learned so much and the second half we were on top of them.  Great to see Rick Mearns popping up with a goal again and young Denty attacking well against experienced defenders. A couple of tweeks in each department and we'll be in a good position come the end of the season."
