Match Report

With end to end hockey from start to finish, both side played with tremendous attacking intent.  Boots finally coming out on top as they got the balance of attack and defence in the second half which earned them a 2 goal advantage and 3pts towards their goal of promotion from the division.

Captain Adam Innocent played outstandingly in the midfield, calling the shots and controlling the play to score a superb goal himself whislt getting PC calls spot on.  Lung busting runs from the back by Ben Docherty were also a welcome feature to this high tempo game.

Phil Bowerman commented "It was great to come into the team today.  Although the game pace was high, I think my experience told as I was able to hold the midfield area.  Coach just asked me to get on the ball and trust my decision making rather than rush things.  Hopefully there will be more chances to give these young lads a run for their money - today shows that we have good depth in the club.

Goalkeeper Freddy Sail added "They was a great game to play in.  At times it was played at a ferocious pace but the lads showed their fitness in the end and for me just had that bit more composure on the ball in the final 3rd.  Pleased to get the win and set up our block of 4 games in Febraury."
