Mens 1st Team Vs Rugby and East Warwicks

Boots Men's 1st team continued their pre-season with a home game against Rugby, who ended last season relegated from the Midlands Premier League.  A tentative and tactical first half from both sides saw good goal scoring chances for both teams.  Superb structured defending from both teams ensured that the score stay at 0-0 until the half-time whistle.

At the break, Coach - Andy Fairbrother asked the team for creativity and drive to open the game up.  Led by evergreen skipper Adam Innocent and rising young star Josh Dent boots soon created opportunities and openned the scoring with an elobrate penalty corner routine.  The game continued to open up and goal scoring opportunties came for both team; each team took a couple to end the game 2-2.

Next week Boots complete their preparations for their first season at Midlands Premier level with a home game against Edgebaston.  Come down and watch at The Bay - 13:30 start!

Vice-Captain - Alex Whit, said afterwards: "It really was a joy to play today, we've got a lot tougher mentally in these last few weeks and the challenge of playing in Midlands Premier is driving us at training each week.  We're playing with good control at the moment and a learning to manage games as we play them."
