Mens 1st Team Vs Chesterfield

A strong performance from Boots saw them dominate both possession and the scoreline in this pre-season friendly against Chesterfield.  Boots pressed their hosts hard from the outset and raced into an early lead.  Their advantage at the half-time break was emphatic both on the score sheet and in possession stats.

The second half gave Coach - Andy Fairbrother the chance to experiment and try new players in new positions and whilst Boots continued to dominate possession of the ball the flow of goals slowed down.  In the end a pleasing win and good performances from new signing Jamie Boast along with home grown talents of Jude Chapman and Lewis Griggs.

After the game a satisfied Captain - Adam Innocent commented: "The lads were great today, they really showed that they can put everything we've talked about and learned over the summer into action in a competive game."

Goalkeeper Freddie Sail added: "The Chesterfield lads are a good bunch so we wish them all the best for the season.  Cracking teas fellas!  On the pitch it's nice to see the coach experimenting with options, with the lads comfortable to play in any position it'll really develop our game."
