Ladies 2nd Team Vs Newark Ladies II

2s Pursuits of happiness!!

This week the 2s enjoyed a stunning 7-2 victory against Newark which can only be described as a true team effort.

Just a few minutes into the game the ball was fed into Beadle in the D from midfield. She lost her defender and coolly waited for the GK to commit before calmly slotting the ball past her.

A short corner routine resulted in George tactfully delivering an aerial deflection over the keepers head as post runner.

Again some quick ball movement resulted in Helen smashing the ball across the D for Hatti to swoop in off the P spot and pop it into the back of the net.

There was no stopping Ali G, she ran from the 23 and was unopposed smashing the living day lights off the ball and watched it fly over the goalie’s head. A wonderful celebration, punching the air and exclaiming “I never score!”

Awesome triangle work from a side line ball which was then crossed in from Helen at the edge of the D and slammed into the back of the net by Josi.

We’ll gloss over the temporary lapse in concentration that saw us concede 2...

A sublime short corner hit from Shelby that was initially saved by the keeper but Josi swooped in on the rebound and ensured it crossed the line. Incredible play round the back with pretty much the whole team touching the ball to move it swiftly up the pitch ending in a fantastic slap across the goal from Naomi on the far post.
