Academy Mini's - U8 tournament

What a tournament and what superstars the U8’s are. We fielded two teams and wow, wasn’t it exciting. We started off a little nervous but once they remembered to put their hockey head on (and which way they were shooting) they played out of their skins!

A number of things I was proud of today that I really have to mention given it was their first ever tournament:
- tackles were excellent, whilst other teams ‘hacked’ we were eco friendly not chopping any trees
- determination, even saving goals on the line
- I saw roll outs, v drags and some great goals!!
- how their confidence grew as the games progressed
- team play was outstanding and even passing when they could have gone on themselves. Most importantly however was seeing the smiles on their faces (even when they played against some very tall U8’s!!!)
Proud is an understatement, thank you parents and thank you Barry, Phil, Jake and Fin as without your help we wouldn’t have got two teams out!
