Match Report

Boots arrived at top of the league Wakefield knowing this would be a tough game. Players who have played National League previously knew that Wakefield have always been strong and have built their team up to push for promotion. There was also the surprise that we would be playing against GB Olympic bronze medallist, Sally Walton.

Boots tried not to let this affect their confidence, but Wakefield started hard and fast and scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes. Boots regained themselves and in the second half of the first half, played much better creating chances on goal.

In the second half, Wakefield continued to pile on the pressure and scored four more goals. Although Boots had strong brief period of passing play, Wakefield were well drilled and confident which enhanced their performance.

Having made a huge step up from Midlands to National League, Wakefield are the type of team Boots will inspire to be like. They have worked hard over the years to become the team they are today and are the best Boots have played so far this season.

This will not knock Boots’ confidence or belief that they belong in this week as in the remaining weeks up to the Christmas break, Boots are playing all the teams in the bottom half of the table. We are hoping to get as many points as possible with the intention to get out of the relegation zone and off the bottom of the table.
