Match Report | A tough first home game of the season agaisnt a Beeston side who won their opener 7-0. An early inury ruled out Jon Cobb early doors, meaning we had to rely more on the immense pace of Barry and Jimmy G. We created the better chances in the first half, playing some good attacking hockey, although we couldn't put the ball in the back of the net - Jimmy G is still looking for the barn door... However we were bunching up in midfield, and this continued in the second half too. With the rain hammering down and the pitch increasingly slippy, it was a more 'rugged' performance, with Beeston pressing harder and putting us under pressure. Keeper Lewis was up to the challenge though, and we were never seriously troubled, depsite increasignly wobbly defending in the final stages of the came. First point of the season, and looking forward to a trip to Lougborough, in search of our first win |
