Nominations:

James Cameron-Williams (Fonters) - Nomination by Jim O’Flaherty:

I’d like to nominate James Cameron-Williams, more commonly known in the hockey club as ‘Fonters’. This year marks his 20th season playing for the Boots 1st team which is an incredible achievement in itself.

Fonters has dedicated two decades to Boots Hockey club, he has captained the men’s 1st team, played lots of mixed games & tournaments, coached various teams in the ladies section, he regularly volunteers to umpire, and helps out the junior section through coaching and supporting tournaments on Sundays.

His breadth of experience means that he is a highly valued club member and is called upon by captains and coaches for his opinion and advice where needed. As junior players have risen through the ranks to the first team Fonters has ensured that they are fully supported, both on and off the pitch, even driving them to every away fixture.

In his 20th season at Boots. Fonters has also been selected to play for the Wales over 40’s team. He was due to be playing at the Masters Hockey World Cup this summer (unfortunately no longer going ahead). Boots should be very proud that they have one of
their original ‘old boys’ representing them at such a high level.

Tash O’Flaherty - Nomination (1 of 2) by Lynne Morgan:

Tash is the Club’s Junior Co-ordinator extraordinare. She has devoted many years of selfless time and energy to building our Junior Section into one of the best there is and providing a solid foundation and essential pillar that allows our great club to flourish.

Specifically she co-ordinates the recruitment of players, coaches and parent volunteers. She supports players’ development at every stage of their hockey journey and delivers and  oversees coaching and organises matches and playing opportunities. She maintains kit, equipment and the junior accounts. And still finds time to organise awards and fundraising social activities.

he represents the junior section at club management level but is also an integral member of the senior management team contributing hugely to club development and strategy.

Tash O’Flaherty - Nomination (2 of 2) by Ameliah Morrison

I would like to nominate Tash O’Flaherty for her support from the sidelines throughout this past season. I play for the ladies 6s, most of the time we don’t have a coach on the sidelines so it was amazing when Tash came to coach from the sidelines. When speaking with my team we all agreed that we have much more confidence in what we do on the pitch.

Jim Gladstone - Nomination by Rob Plant:

Jim stepped in to captain run the 6th team when no one else would.  He helps out with coaching the youngsters on the pitch and plays every week (almost) while balancing that with family life including three young kids.  (Oh and he bought me a pint after a game once).

Katie Robson - Nomination (1 of 2) by Marie Shaw:

I would like to nominate Katie Robson aka Robbo.

She plays hard, umpires several games most weekends during the season, volunteers to help out other teams. She has gone above and beyond to support the club by umpiring and despite her age and studying, nothing is too much trouble for her.

Katie Robson - Nomination (2 of 2) by Katie Short:

I would to nominate Katie Robson for her dedication to helping coach Juniors on a Monday night and ladies 3-6 on a Thursday night. She regularly umpires on a Saturday, always volunteering and helping where she can. She has played ladies 1s, 2s, mixed and Badgers as well as keeping up with her own county development training sessions. All this and she is only 16.
