Badgers Hockey
What age of the junior players playing Badgers?
Age 12-13 (start school year 8) and above.
Junior Academy or Young People?
Both. Badgers is designed for young U16 player new to 11-a-side so transcends both parts of the club.
Is there a min/max age for the teams?
8 u16 in the pitch and they ideally should be new to 11-a-side hockey + 3 ‘adults’ but these 3 players could also include experienced u16 too.
Is Badgers as part of the Junior Academy or Stand Alone?
Badgers is a stand alone team, separate to the Junior Academy. Younger players involved are usually transitioning in adult hockey and play for lower Men's and Ladies teams; they can still train on a Monday night with the older academy group in additon they can join in adult training sessions too.
When does the Badgers team play?
We play regularly in the season between September and April, with occasional games in Summer. Because it is an informal Set-up in Nottinghamshire at the moment, there is no official league so interested clubs just organise games amongst themselves and we usually organise games about a month in advance. Currently Ann Crockett-McClean at Newark HC heads it all up and gets us organised!
