After last week’s debacle, I have your roundup and news about what is happening this weekend nice and early!

Firstly, the ladies 1s earnt their first point in National League with a 0-0 draw over Ben Rhydding. Man of the Match went (almost unanimously) to GK Clare Schulze who made some fantastic saves to keep a clean sheet, and the team are very confident of picking up more points in the last 3 games before Christmas. Their next one is versus Loughborough Students on Sunday, and the team (as always) would love some home support. Anyone coming to watch, please note that there is a rugby event going on so parking will be restricted. The overflow carpark is on Scarrington Road by the City ground.

In other news, several teams are doing great in their leagues. Teams in the top half of their tables are the ladies 2s (joint 2nd), 3s (joint 3rd), 4s (1st and 100% record!) and the Mens 3s (1st and undefeated!) and Mens 5s (3rd). It looks really tight in a lot of leagues, and a win can push you up a few places, so it’s all still to play for!

In non hockey news, I’ve seen some dodgy looking tashes on the pitch (most notably Phil Rhodes and Quags)…I’m sure they’ll be happy to take donations for Movember. And congratulations to Baz and Helen Treanor who welcomed baby Zach last Tuesday (I hear a rumour he’s already down for intensive Hockey lessons…)

We’re back to 6 home games on Saturday, as well as the aforementioned Ladies 1s league game on Sunday, so get down and show your support to all teams!
