Big Support Needed! 15th March
Posted by Nobody on 13 March 2014
Last weekend saw 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses, and 3 of our teams remain in promotion races. Although every hockey game is a big one, this weekend sees two great big games at home – our ladies 4s must win to secure promotion and a victory for our Ladies 1s against Ben Rhydding will keep them in with a chance of avoiding the relegation play off. The support on the sidelines has been greatly appreciated all season (I can tell you that personally!), and this is a massive game and so let’s make it difficult for the away teams!
Fixtures this weekend
Saturday HOME:
0900: Ladies 5s vs Redhill 2s - The last game of the season for our ladies 5s, who lie in an uncatchable 6th place and face 7th place Redhill on Saturday. Solid season!
1030: Ladies 4s vs Newark 3s – A must win game against 4th place Newark to ensure a league title and promotion for the ladies 4s.
1230: Ladies 1s vs Ben Rhydding 1s – It’s 9th vs 8th with one point separating the teams. In the reverse fixture Boots earnt their first points of the season and started their challenge to remain a national league club. Unfortunately 7th and 8th also play 10th in the next 2 games, so it’s all still to play for and no result guarantees anything! Three points on Saturday will be an epic step towards national league survival, so please come down and support the last home game of the season!
1430: Mens 3s vs Warwick – MRHA are reshuffling the leagues next season, so I have no idea what position the men’s 3s need to finish to gain promotion. They currently lie 3rd with a game in hand, and take on 5th.
1600: Mens 6s vs South Notts 4s – Again, the MRHA reshuffle could mean anything, but our Mens 6s lie in a seemingly comfortable 8th out of 12 teams. South Notts are 9th, and we love a local derby.
Saturday AWAY:
10am Ladies 2s vs Ashby – Every game is a big game when the league is tight at the top! Ladies 2s are the lead in the race for the league title and promotion with 3 games to go, but can’t afford to slip up with Derby Asterdale tight on their tails. Ashby are 5th and need more points to ensure league survival.
11am Ladies 3s vs North Notts 2s – always a physical challenge, the ladies 3s head off to Mansfield for their final game. The Ladies 3s can’t be caught in 5th, but could jump into 4th with a win!
1300 Mens 2s vs Coalville – The 2s are still in a promotion race but have a couple of tight games coming up. Mens 2s are currently 4th, and take on 5th at the weekend.
1100 Mens 4s vs Loughborough Students – Brian is SO EXCITED about this game. The students have only scored 199 goals in their 19 games this season (that’s only an average of 10.5 a game)
Sunday HOME
1330: Ladies 6s friendly vs North Notts
