Boots HC Annual General Meeting (AGM) - 8th April
Posted by Nobody on 24 March 2014
Dear Boots Hockey Club Members,
The Annual General Meeting is being held on Tuesday 8th April 2014 at the Boots Club House. We are aiming to start at 7pm so please try and get there for 6.50pm. NB I am told that Forest are at home so please arrive early for parking and do car share wherever possible. The bar will NOT be open so please bring your own refreshments.
There are plenty of positions up for grabs on the committee so please do not be shy and put your name forward - whether a person is re-standing or not you can put yourself forward. Please speak to your captain or Amy Briggs if you are interested in helping the club. Without volunteers this club would be unable to function so please help out where you can. As ever, if more than one person wishes to stand for a role then each will be expected to give a brief explanation as to why they wish to stand and what they would bring to the role, following which votes will be cast.
Also if you have any nominations for the Gareth Kimbley award please email them to Amy Briggs by 30th March. For those new to the club, this award is given in memory of Gareth Kimbley who died in a car crash on the way to a hockey match for Boots The award is given to someone who (as a result of the votes at the AGM) the club believes has contributed to the running/success of the club for the past year. This doesn't have to be someone on the committee, perhaps someone who has regularly umpired, provided coaching, take on more responsibility, always helps out etc. At the AGM you will then need to give a small speech as to why you believe this person warrants the award.
We will be holding a ball amnesty and also an amnesty for any club-house keys that people may have from previous time on the committee etc, so if you've managed to "acquire" any of these things, please bring them down!
Finally, please send apologies to Amy if you are unable to attend.
If anyone has any items for the agenda, please send to Amy by EOB Tuesday 1st April.
Regards, Boots HC Committee
