Recruiting for Ladies 2nd XI Coach & Men’s Assistant Coach
Posted by Nobody on 16 July 2015
Boots HC (Nottingham) wish to appoint a coach for our ladies 2nd XI and an assistant coach for our men’s section, mainly covering the 2nd and 3rd XIs. Ideally this will be the same person, but we are open to splitting the role.
Boots Hockey Club is one of the fastest growing clubs in the Midlands, now boasting seven men’s and six ladies’ teams, as well as a thriving junior section, and was shortlisted for England Hockey’s Club of the Year 2015.
We need a quality coach to work with our experienced men’s and ladies’ 1st XI coaches; with primary responsibility for the ladies’ 2nd XI, but also supporting the upper end of the men’s section. Whilst we would prefer a single appointment, we will consider separate applications for either of the two elements of the role.
The ladies’ 2nd XI are looking to achieve promotion from Midlands Division 2, with training sessions on Wednesday evenings and match day support, mainly on Saturday mornings but with flexibility for Sunday cup and re-arranged games. Training takes place alongside the 1st and 3rd XIs, allowing good opportunity for both player progression and coach development.
We are also seeking coaching support for our men’s 1st XI to 3rd XI training sessions on Tuesday evenings to work alongside the men’s 1st XI coach. Mainly delivering sessions to the 3rd XI (Midlands Premier Division), the successful candidate will also support the 2nd XI (East Midlands Premier) in their bid for promotion and help to promote the progression of promising players through the teams. Where fixtures and commitments to the ladies’ 2nd XI permit, this role would ideally also support either the 2nd or 3rd XI for Saturday afternoon matches.
A level 2 qualification is an ideal requirement, and the club will support successful candidates should they wish to progress to higher qualifications.
The successful candidate(s) will be hired on a fixed-term consultancy basis at rates to be negotiated based on qualifications, experience and level of commitment. They will not be employed by the club and should make their own arrangements for tax and National Insurance.
Applications, together with a coaching CV, and any queries should be addressed to either:
- Club Captain, Keith Kirkpatrick keith.kirkpatrick@rolls-royce.com or
- Ladies’ 1st XI coach, Andy Fairbrother andy.fairbrother@gmail.com
