Local Player Shows Hockey Spirit

Posted by Nobody on 22 November 2013

You may have seen the recent article in the Telegraph about Beeston HC men’s 1s player Sam Ward’s pledge to donate money to charity for every goal he scores this season in support of team mate Martin Scanlon’s fight against a recurrence of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

On behalf of Boots Hockey Club, I’d like to wish Martin all the best for a full & speedy recovery – hopefully we’ll see him back on the Highfields turf before too long. Hopefully Sam continues his rich vein of goal scoring form for the rest of the season (thankfully none of them will be against Boots!)

Should anyone want to add their support to Sam & Martin and add to the fundraising, please follow this link: https://www.justgiving.com/SamWard15
