Super Saturday at the Bay!

SUPER SATURDAY AT THE BAY

On Saturday our men’s teams kick off their respective league campaigns (well, except the Mens 2s who have a Blank week to start!). Last weekend our ladies section saw 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 victory as a result of a team pulling out of the league pre-season! This weekend is the equivalent to the London 2012 Olympic stadium when 3 GB golds were won in the space of an hour…ish.

Our Ladies 2s start the programme with a 10:30 Pushback vs Belper. Buoyed by their 1-0 victory last weekend against league contenders Matlock, Boots will be looking to score big against Belper.

Next follows to Ladies 1s second home game against Whitley Bay and Tynemouth (12:30 pushback). WBaT are one of the stronger performers at the start of the season, but points can be won and lost in all games this year, and Boots will be looking to bring their A game!

This game is the most anticipated game of the Mens 1s season, some compare it to the thriller in manila, with the battle of the Soars as our Men’s 1 look to slice and dice through Sikh Union from 2pm. (writing assistance from Quags…)

Next up the high flying (at least in friendlies) Mens 3s vs Northampton Saints! The Mens 3’s performed well last season, and have been bolstered by some of the club youth stepping up as well as some new joiners. They’ll be looking to smash this one (if Captain Andy has recovered from his broken half-marathon running foot…). Pushback at 3.30 in this one!

And finally, with the quite horrific pushback time of 5pm (sorry!) are the Mens 5s vs North Notts. New captain Graham is finally back from his holidays and assembling his squad, who got a 1-1 draw against higher league opposition at the weekend. Optimistic for 3 points please!
